To ensure you are able to vote, please see deadline information below:

Last date for new electoral registration applications – 11.50pm on Tuesday 11 August 2026  

Last date for new applications, amendments or cancellations of postal votes and amendments or cancellations of proxy votes – 5pm, Wednesday 12 August 2026

Last date for new proxy applications (excluding emergency) – 5pm, Wednesday 19 August 2026

Last date for Voter Authority Certificate applications – 5pm, Wednesday 19 August 2026

Emergency proxy application period (permitted in specific circumstances only when matter arises after proxy deadline) – from 5pm on 19 August to 5pm on 27 August 2026

Period for re-issue replacement lost & spoilt postal votes – from Friday 21 August to 5pm, Thursday 27 August 2026

Polling day (hours of poll, 7am – 10pm) – Thursday 27 August 2026

Electors who are eligible to vote in local government elections within the referendum area, are eligible to vote in the referendum. There is no need to register again.
